Resolution passed in National Assembly on International Women’s Day 2026

The House adopted the resolution moved by the Secretary Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Dr. Shahida Rehmani, in which the National Assembly of Pakistan acknowledges International Women’s Day 2026, observed under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. for All Women and Girls,” and celebrates the invaluable contributions of women and girls to the country’s social, political, and economic development. The House reaffirms its commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment, noting progress in political representation while recognizing ongoing challenges in access to rights, justice, and decision-making. The resolution calls for strengthening laws and institutions, promoting equitable access to justice, increasing investment in women’s development, and supporting meaningful participation in governance and planning. It commends the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and urges all stakeholders to convert commitments into concrete actions advancing rights, justice, and opportunities for women and girls nationwide.
