UN Women KP meeting with Speaker KP Assembly

The UN Women Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team convened a meeting with Mr. Babar Saleem Swati, Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, to discuss the execution of the Pakistan Women Leaders (PWL) project at the provincial level in collaboration with the KP Assembly. The project kicked off with a three-day session on Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) for inclusive governance and planning, marking the beginning of the work plan execution. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of members of parliament to develop and implement gender-sensitive policies, promoting gender equality and informing policy decisions with a gender perspective. By integrating gender perspectives into budgeting and policy-making, the project seeks to lead to more equitable outcomes and empower women leaders in the region, highlighting the commitment of UN Women and the KP Assembly to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
