Sindh WPC Reviews Proposed By-Laws
Karachi, September 2026: The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), Sindh, is undertaking a comprehensive review and consultation process for the proposed By-Laws of the Caucus, including a comparative review of the frameworks and practices of national and provincial women’s parliamentary caucuses. The process aims to develop a clear and effective institutional framework that reflects the needs and priorities of women parliamentarians in Sindh.
As part of the ongoing process, the Executive Body has undertaken a detailed, clause-by-clause review of the proposed By-Laws and considered various observations and recommendations. The deliberations have covered key areas including the functions and scope of the Caucus, its composition, the eligibility and responsibilities of office-bearers, decision-making procedures, meetings of the Caucus, and the role of the Executive Committee.
The proposed revisions seek to further clarify the institutional roles and responsibilities within the Caucus and strengthen provisions relating to women’s empowerment, institutional cooperation and collaboration, engagement with national and international stakeholders, and effective coordination. Members have also deliberated on the complementary roles of the Convenor and Co-Convenor and on strengthening decision-making provisions through defined voting requirements.
The Executive Body has agreed to continue consultations and deliberations to further refine the proposed By-Laws, with their finalisation being prioritised in the coming days. Following completion of the review and approval process, the By-Laws will be formally adopted and brought into effect.
