Peshawar 13 April 2026: The Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and Patron-in-Chief of the Women Parliamentary Caucus, Babar Saleem Swati, formally administered the oath today to the women Members of the Provincial Assembly under the rules of the Women Parliamentary Caucus (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly). The oath-taking ceremony was held in the Assembly Conference Room.

The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Education Arshad Ayub Khan and opposition MPA Nisar Baz. From the Assembly Secretariat, Secretary Assembly Syed Waqar Shah and other relevant officials were also present to facilitate the proceedings.

The women MPAs expressed their commitment to perform their official duties with integrity and responsibility in line with the objectives of the Women Parliamentary Caucus.

On the occasion, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati stated that the Women Parliamentary Caucus provides women legislators with an effective and organized platform through which they can better highlight issues related to legislation, policymaking, and women’s affairs.

He further added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is committed to promoting empowered representation of women and enhancing their active role, and that institutional measures in this regard will be further strengthened.

The ceremony concluded successfully and was described as an important step towards strengthening the democratic process and institutional development.
