WPC Punjab held meeting on key issues related to women’s rights, health and protection
The meeting of the Women Parliamentary Caucus was held at the Punjab Assembly, where members deliberated on key issues relating to women’s rights, health, and protection.
Ms. Ishrat Ashraf, Convener of the Women Parliamentary Caucus, delivered the opening remarks, while Ms. Asfa Khan, Director of the Parliamentary Development Unit (PDU), outlined the objectives of the meeting.
Ms. Shagufta Faisal presented a proposed amendment to the legal provisions of the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961, concerning the recognition of spousal property rights.
Ms. Rushda Lodhi, Focal Person of the Women Parliamentary Caucus Subcommittee on Women’s Primary Healthcare, presented the subcommittee’s six-month roadmap.
Ms. Syeda Samreen Taj, Focal Person of the Women Parliamentary Caucus Subcommittee on Protection Against Harassment of Women, briefed participants on the subcommittee’s six-month action plan and future priorities.
The meeting reaffirmed its commitment to advancing women’s rights through effective legislation, improved policymaking, and strengthened institutional collaboration.

محترمہ سیدہ ثمرین تاج، فوکل پرسن ویمن پارلیمانی کاکس سب کمیٹی برائے خواتین کو ہراسانی سے تحفظ، نے سب کمیٹی کا چھ ماہ کا ایکشن پلان اور مستقبل کی ترجیحات سے آگاہ کیا۔
اجلاس میں خواتین کے حقوق کے فروغ، مؤثر قانون سازی، بہتر پالیسی سازی اور ادارہ جاتی تعاون کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا گیا۔
